- Blend bingo with six blends on a card.
- Read the sentences, then draw one of them.
Questions parents ask
What is a consonant blend?
Two or three consonants together where each sound is still heard, such as bl in black, st in stop and str in string.
What are L, R and S blends?
L blends end in l (bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, sl), R blends end in r (br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr), and S blends start with s (sc, sk, sm, sn, sp, st, sw).
Are blends and digraphs the same?
No. In a blend you hear both letters (b and l in black). In a digraph two letters make one new sound (sh in ship).
